How to prevent “Greenwashing Ads” on online platforms and help consumers make the right purchase?

Why: The word “recyclable” / “biodegradable” / “compostable” means absolutely nothing unless the products are collected to be recycled and processed appropriately. The words “biodegradable” means absolutely nothing but I can guarantee they will not degrade in the natural environment. “Compostable” packaging has to be collected separately and picked to an industrial facility to decompose. Since they look like standard PET, consumers bin these in the same bin which ends up contaminating the existing waste streams which means they have to be sent to landfill/ burnt or sent to Africa/ Asia. And yes, we need to standardise these words and put clear definitions.
